Two solid resources show Effie Glennie was born a Westcott.  References after those initial documents show her living with Robert and Angeline Rich, and listed as Effie Rich.  I haven’t been able to find any resources explaining this surname change.  Records for that period are limited to US Census records, and the 1890 US Census was lost to a fire.
