Robert, “Uncle Bob,” was the only sibling of Vernon Wescott Sr. 

In the US Census of 1930, Robert is listed in the city of  Delaware, District 0008, County of Delaware, OH. Robert is listed as a “Roomer,”  Also listed is his friend Charles A. Bailey, also born in Vermont, 18 years old, and the grand nephew of homeowner George O. Higley.  Both Uncle Bob and his friend Charles were workers for state highways.  George was 71 years old.  Living right next door was Frank Higley, age 47, Assistant Division Engineer for the State Highways.  

In the US Census of April 23, 1940, in the town of Delaware, District 4, Delaware County, Ohio. Uncle Bob is listed, as well as his wife Donna and daughter Nancy, eight years old.  His profession is listed as Stockroom Clerk at a college.   

In the US Census of May 9, 1950,  he is listed living in Los Angeles, age 41, divorced, working as a Service Station Attendant at an Aircraft Factory.  

His remains are in the Abbey of the Palms Mausoleum, Sanctuary of Peace, Hollywood Forever Cemetery, along with his second wife, Florence. 

Uncle Bob had one child, Nancy Wescott.  In high school at North Hollywood High, she began dating a boy who was of Mexican descent.  Uncle Bob demanded she stop seeing him, and when she didn’t, he disowned Nancy, and this rift lasted for decades, possibly until they reconciled on his deathbed.
